My son and I went over to Decker friday for some perch action. We were not disappointed. We arrived at dawn and fished until 11AM. Conditions were low variable wind, mostly clear skies, water temp 87F. We fished the northern arm of the lake around weed banks in 8-10 feet of water. We used down shot rigs on UL tackle baited with BOC and maggots. We had a mix of dinks, 6-9 inch fish, and 4 fish in the 9.5 to 10 inch class. All fish released to swim again. A great day on the water finished off with an Arby's sandwich ! food grin

Thanks Steve ! They might have been preggo perch. But they were just super thick through and through. A couple of the thickest perch I've ever caught. Overall the perch on this lake are very heathy.

coolphotos Living the dream! It just don't get any better! Good job guys. cheers

Side Note: Will always use the BOC "Bait of Champions" Worms while fishing for the sunnies. Fred aka Rionator however was nailing em with the Gulp Alive Minnows. I usually use the Gulp Alive Worms when the bite is good and aggressive however I might just keep a jar of the minnows on hand! Have you ever used the Gulp Alive Minnows? noidea

I bought a jar at Dicks today. The only question I have is how you rig them ? Do you just pull the hook through the head of the minnow? There are no instructions on the jar. Maybe I'll try you-tube.

You can rig them different ways. I have used them as a trailer on a spinning lure and have used them on a jig head. I have also used them on a regular size six hook with a drop shot. They have worked great on all of these methods. hooked
