Seems its up to the new owners if they continue the state park lease, should they decide not to public access will end no later than October 2020 if not earlier. Seems someone might have a new private lake

Glad therere building the new lake up by Bonham. Seems like we are losing more lakes than we are gaining these days! All these coal fired power plant lakes are on there way out eventually.

Does TXU raise cattle? Or just lease the land they own to cattle owners for pasture land? The first cove to the south of the dam always has cattle grazing there.

TXU leased a lot of it's property for just that purpose..TXU made a little money from it....I have only been on Fairfield a couple of times for fishing but many times to the plant...Never really cared about who owned the land at the time. I hope they don't close it...

Last two times Ive fished it, 5 keepers just made me think I had a chance. Ha. I had 18 pounds last time and was 11 pounds behind first. But....I know what I gotta do. Quit having fun and fish for 5 bites.
