I have no idea on finding Brush piles. Is there a App that might be a good one to assist me?

Fishidy is pretty good.

TPWD has coordinates to some brush piles and other man made cover on some lakes.

Boating HD by Navionics has a few "hot spots" within the app. Some are from the Hot Spots map and some are spots that users have uploaded. I'm not sure how accurate they are.

TPWD post the state manged piles on this site https://tpwd.texas.gov/fishboat/fish/recreational/lakes/fish_attractors.phtml

Nor is Lewisville, Grapevine or Ray Roberts. It appears DFW is getting ignored by TPWD... LOL

FWIW I've found that on most waterbodies with any appreciable amount of fishing pressure, you can just cruise structure and find manmade cover in the same places you would put it. Pick a long point, for instance, and cruise it while monitoring your sonar. You'll find brushpiles at the appropriate depths and locations. The more folks that fish the lake, the more brushpiles you'll find.

Jim Ford. I agree with what you are saying. But I am a kayak dude. Not able to get around as if I had a boat. So what I have been doing is taking the Yak out without any rods. To try to find some spots. Cause if I have a rod on the boat. I will fish. LOL. Thanks Guys.

This is why I purchased a relatively inexpensive aluminum boat with a 50HP motor. I can sonar log and map 50 acres in six hours from a kayak and 500 acres in six hours from a 50HP boat.

From Thanksgiving to Valentine's Day, I use the boat to sonar log and map lakes (I use a third party software called Reefmaster--the sonar viewer and map generator work best with Lowrance, but the sonar viewer does work well with Humminbird).
When I get home, I view the sonar logs, marking brush piles and waypoints; then I generate a map of the lake.

I gotcha. I fish kayaks too. I have three yaks, a SoloSkiff, and a Skull Island poling skiff. I use them all. You should have viable structure near your launch point. If it's a marina, you'll likely notice that the powerboaters generally run a long way from the marina. That's to your advantage in a yak; you don't need to travel so far. The marina I fished out of on Conroe (Stow-A-Way) has a lot of prime structure within half to three quarters of a mile. Much of it with cover added. In fact, I often worked that structure out of my bass boat on foggy or stormy days, when I didn't want to stray too far.

Assuming you have a sonar unit, study the chart and pick your areas. Load your rods and a couple of marker buoys. Find the cover and fish the cover. Load it into your GPS, if you have one. Yes, it's easier to get around in a powerboat, but there's no reason you can't do it in a yak. It takes a little bit longer, but it's not all that hard to do. Go for it, and good luck!

Your still welcome on the boat when i get the new graph hooked up and if you want to set some piles out i know a few places that would be perfect for a bunch.
