The lake is finally only a couple of feet high now, so I headed out Saturday morning. Didn't need to go far since just out off the west point of Meadowmere the sandies were thick a flees. Spent 2 hours in basically one spot. I lost count of how many I caught. Most were 9 to 12 inches. No monsters but they did surface in that area off and on til about 9 am. They are feeding on small 1" shad/minnows. Used small slabs and white crappie jigs.

1 oz. Mud Minnow (silver- from MT Pockets Tackle). They are skinny, not like a standard slab shape..

A shameless plug even though I get no discount. smile.

I will give it a go again Wednesday evening to see if I can find them in the evening. Been tough lately. Don't know if it is the rude wake boarders or the gates being wide open for so long.

Thanks for the " SHAMELESS PLUG " JWC
Kensho... You can do either casting or jigging will work (depending on what the fish want)

They schooled for over an hour in front of Murrell last week. Good sized ones mixed in too.

We hit the motherlode last night at Meadowmear. We threw 2" sassy shads on a school surrounding us for an hour and a half. Most were 12" fish. Good size for the schoolers.

Sorry, jigging slab off the bottom. I use swim baits and tail spinners "little george" type when casting.

Easy lake to run. Just give the points plenty of room when going around them as some stick out far and have big rocks. As for the sandies, I would look for schooling activity by the island or the north side of the lake.

Not sure what side of the lake you're on. Katie woods is the best one on south side. Murrell on the north side.
Most of my fishing is west from the island.

Went back out to GV Wednesday evening. Had another 100 plus fish night between the 2 of us. From 6:00 till almost 8 it was non-stop action on slabs out just east of Murrel Park on the north side. They weren't in the usual places but we just moved around for a few minutes and the screen lit up. It stayed lit up for a hour and a half. [Linked Image]

Look in 24 to 26 ft. Rock crusher humps and the east murrell point.
Any one oz slab.
