The water board is responding to the complaints of about 50 homeowners and looking into eliminating the grass. Please go onto their Facebook page and let them hear your opinion. This is a Great Lake and getting better every year. They will destroy it over a few complaints.

In one moment of bad judgement the entire lake of Hubbard Creek could become another Lake Austin, Purtis Creek.....and be turned into a barren mud hole.

It is easy to post your comments. Get on there and make a statement to leave the vegetation alone. We all know that the West TX. lakes go through the rise and fall cycles. When they rise the grass shows up. Whey they fall the grass falls. This problem will be short lived; but the benefits of having the cover will produce larger fish providing shade, oxygen, spawning areas and safe refuge for the fry to hide. This problem can be taken care of when the lake falls 15 ft.. It can be done with shoreline grooming during low water periods. Thanks for sharing. Donald

That FB post is the beginning of the end. Homeowners always seem to win these deals.

We fisherman have waited so long for this lake to fill up and bring back the Grass .My god please leave it alone .This lake bring a lot of $ to Breckenridge and doing away with the grass would take much of that away.pond weed is only a small problem on this lake .There are many more fisherman on this lake than skiing and boaters

BUMMER! Still smarting over the ludicrous destruction of the once-superb Purtis Creek. I'll certainly join the effort to try and prevent yet another lake-ruining overreaction.

Why would maybe 50 home owners have the say on a water supply lake and one of the best fishing lakes in our area that brings in many $$$$$ to Breckenridge. Amistad lake has Hydrilla and the grass will die back as the level fluctuates and return when levels stabilize.Don' ruin a lake for a few dock owners by putting chemicals in our water supply.

I hope this doesnt happe . I drove out there yesterday just to punch the grass. Hopefully with the small amount of homeowners on the lake they wont get very far with this.

Only 86 rebuttals on their Facebook page. Post up! Will it change anything? IDK. Worth a shot.
