I went to Lake Proctor and tried out some hybrid fishing there for the first time. Although we didn't get into any hybrids this short trip, we found the white bass! I share their location in this video as well as some fun topwater action that took place in the area. I hope you all enjoy the video and go take advantage of what has to be one of the best white bass fishing lakes I've personally been on. I found acres of white bass on this one particular spot shared in the video and look forward to going back.

Tight lines!

Thanks man! I was trying to do something different than my other videos. I have tended to make more educational videos and other fun style videos. I'm trying to find a good balance between making some fun footage but also something the audience can learn from such as contour maps/location, screenshots, tips/tricks, gear, etc....

Do you usually have much luck fishing?

I am excited to go back soon and see if we can locate the hybrids. I got a few ideas on where else to try. But I would go back for the white bass action alone! Never seen so many white bass. They covered that entire point!

I used to fish Proctor all the time when I was in college and miss it now. You might want to brush up on your fish identification. At least 2 of those BIG whites you caught and showed on camera were hybrids (time in video: 4:40 & 5:39). I would hate see someone putting out good videos to get ticketed. Thanks for sharing.

Well, I took the video down. I reviewed it after talking to a few people and realized I was wrong. A few of those "white bass" where very short hybrids and I totally missed it like a big goof. I think between fishing a new lake, messing with a few gopros, etc.... I didn't pay attention to what I was catching because I know the difference but just didn't really look. My goal with my Youtube channel is to put out quality and accurate videos so I figured it was best to delete the video and count it as a learning experience.

Thanks for everyone's support!

Clay

Clay, I missed seeing the video and that lake has not had much press lately. Can you put the video back up with a disclaimer that 'some of the fish were hybrids'. Maybe someone will learn from that. Proctor was a tremendous hybrid lake back in the 80's-90's and then the white bass were introduced. I am pretty sure that many of the hybrids that are stocked in there today are getting taken out as white bass and never have the chance to reach their full maturity. With the shad load in that lake, the hybrids could make a great comeback if there was some education on the difference between the fish....maybe that's a new video!

I have the footage from the trip but my edited video is deleted from my computer due to space issues so I cant reupload it, I literally would have to make a whole new video. I plan to go back to proctor soon and will make another video then and probably use some of this footage then as a learning experience.

Well said, unless you were keeping fish, the video was in itself about catching fish on top water. I missed the video !

Im planning on remaking the video and include an education piece about the difference between short hybrids and white bass to redem myself lol. I gotta say, I felt like a total dummy that I missed it at the lake and in editing. I know the difference but was so caught up in filming, editing, fishing a new lake, and playing I didnt even look at the fish close enough to know it was a short hybrid and called a few of them white bass and kept them by mistake. Oh well I learned to pay more attention and hopefully I can help others with a few quick identification tips in the new edited video....

I appreciate everyones support and the few people that corrected me!

Edited video coming soon haha
