Better yet, set that POS on fire, put it out of your misery, and buy a Tundra like baby Jesus drove.

Baby Jesus bought American you commie.

My Tundra was built here in Texas by gun toting, Baby Jeebus loving Texans.

He told me that the 6 speed was the best transmission he'd seen, the only repairs/rebuilds he'd done on the 6 speed was when someone had a leak and ran it low, or tore a line and drained the fluid completely. I was asking him if I should expect something soon on that transmission (>200,000 miles now), he said nope, just make sure it doesn't leak and keep on keepin' on.

My 2018 F-150 just has the button to turn it off. I drive in so much traffic that I am afraid I will blow out the starter in a year. Plus I have had it stall out the engine 3 times while sitting in traffic and trying to go quickly. The 10 speed tranny is so much easier in traffic without the auto stop.

It is annoying, and I always turn it off. It only shuts down when the truck doesnt need the power from the engine to run accessories. So if you keep your A/C is in the 60s it may never shut off.

Mine is a year and 3 months old and nary a problem. Best tow truck I've owned. Got use to hitting the disable button for the auto stop as soon as I start it up. There's a brand and type of truck for everybody. I like mine just fine. thumb

I like Jayc41's reply. Unfortunately start/stop is probably going to be on all vehicles. The problem is the government set CAFE standards with regard to consumer demand. What are automakers going to do set a quota on trucks and SUVs and stop selling in September or something. I think there is only so many MPGs you can squeeze out of a 6000 vehicle with the areodynamics of a brick.

Ahhh So this might be a legit answer! Now that I think about it when I first got the truck in like Jan it always shut of. Its stopped doing it, or started doing it only very intermittently in the last few months. Since its been hot and the AC is pretty much on full blast all the time.

This actually makes sense.
