Wife making me go to Conroe w/ the In-laws this weekend. Only agreed b/c I get to take the boat and fish the ENTIRE time we are there. I live around Fayette/Bastrop and have never fished Conroe in my adult life. Any advice on largemouth fishing will help. Staying up North by 1097. Won't even think about going south of there on a Friday/Saturday. Be nice to tell in-laws I couldn't hang out b/c of this stringer of large fish I was catching!

south end pitching docks isn't too bad before noon. North end in the back of the creeks early morning and night. Carolina rig and deep crank on point when its warming up during the day. Just be careful running the north end due to the submerged timber.

Study up on Navionics. Any offshore spots that look good will likely have some brush piles on them. Carolina rig / Deep crank should do the trick. If its sunny and no wind, shakey head on docks adjacent to deep water (Spike it).
Best days on Conroe for me are when the wind is just barely tolerable. Find some sort of pinch point (ledge, point, creek, etc.) thats getting hammered by the wind and you'll find the lazy, fat fish who like to let their food come to them.

Hit or miss right now. Catching a few in the back of creeks but best days are on main lake points with brush piles. I always stay north of 1097 bridge until fall to avoid the wakeboard and jet flea traffic. Good luck and let us know how you do...

North of 1375 is a hot, oxygen-free, chocolate milk colored hell hole this time of year. Save yourself the trouble and the fiberglass repair bill.
