Was tossing a one inch gulp minnow into a stake bed yesterday. Thought I had fouled...then the line moved. Fight was on...but I had only 4 pound test on an ultra lite rod. I know there is no way to accurately guess the size of this fish....the only known size is the lure is a one inch minnow on a light jig head. Fish has some shoulders on it, but with nothing to compare it too it's hard to say!
I'm guessing 5+ maybe?

Nice fish. 8lbs is my guess. Berkeley gulp 1" minnow is my #1 producing lure, on drop shot rig or small 1/80th jighead. What size jig head do you use? 1/64th? I'm sure it was pulling some major drag!
