My wife and I do a lot of fishing in the local community lakes/ponds in our area (Flower Mound & Highland Village) and you would be amazed at the size of cats in some of these city park ponds/lakes. We just started doing videos and below is a video of a big cat we caught this past Saturday. Hope you enjoy! If you do feel free to like and subscribe as we are trying to grow our channel. We will have more Urban Fishing Videos coming out soon.

Wow!.....Nice cat! Enjoyed the video! I wish my local community pond had some pigs like that, but the fishing pressure is pretty intense on my pond, so the fish get hammered until the next stocking. You are lucky as it looks like you don't have much fishing pressure on that pond. Thanks for the video!
Just one more cast!

It is illegal to throw a cast net in a community pond.

It is illegal to throw a cast net in a community pond. I see people using a castnet on my community pond getting bait, and have never seen a rule posted saying it was illegal. Here is the official TPWD rule.....It mentions fishing not getting bait! https://tpwd.texas.gov/fishboat/fish/action/fishregs2.php?water=cfl0Alabama probably has different rules?
Just one more cast!

Although it is confusing, using a cast net is considered a fishing method (it requires a fishing license) and is not allowed in community ponds that are stocked under the neighborhood fishin regulations. The regulations state, "Trotlines, jug lines, fish traps, seines, cast nets, bows and spears are not allowed in Neighborhood Fishin' lakes." Some of the lakes are both Community and Neighborhood Fishin Lakes, so no cast nets. I just hate to see someone getting a ticket, especially when fishing with youngsters. Nice fish. That should be a waterbody record.

Tim I can tell from your videos that you are up on the regulations and always try and stay within them. If you look at the TPWD regulations, cast nets at clearly excluded in Neighborhood Fisin Lakes. As for community lakes I have had different responses from game wardens. The regulations you stated are correct so the issue is if a cast net is a fishing method. If the pond you are fishing in is only a community lake and not a neighborhood fishing lake then it will be a determination by the game warden if cast nets are ok. I wish the regulations were more clearly written but there are many gray areas. I can't wait to see more videos.

New video will be posted late Sunday to our you tube channel
