Water temp: low to mid 80s
Lake Level: 30.09ft low

Wednesday was a topwater blast all day thanks to heavy clouds and wind. I caught several fish from borderline keeper to 5lbs. Hydrilla is still strong in select areas down to 20ft. I had a couple fish pitching 1oz jigs in thick grass and a few on square bills.

Carlos from Karlens Tackle and I fished the Thursday nt tourney last night and I let momma get away. An 8-9lb fish that jumped a couple times then got hung on a branch hanging half out of the water then came off before we could lift the power poles & get there. Ive about convinced myself this fish was spawning based on what I had seen the day before and how this fish was acting. (Missed this fish hour earlier same spot, clean white spots that looked like beds, balls of fry, etc..)

Rumors are quality Stripers are being caught but I havnt seen them yet. Ill be looking...

Thanks for the report. Have to get down there soon.

I'm headed down there tomorrow for a few days of fishing. Haven't fished down there since last fall. Wish me luck.
