I want to know if anyone that owns an Express boat gets any fishing done or if you are kept busy all the time trying to keep the boat where you want it. I have a Bay 20' center console and in very little wind that thing is all over the place. I can't get any fishing done because of it. I thought an Ultrex might help but I don't want to spend the money if it won't solve the problem. Thanks, Gary

I have a 20' Sea Ark center console. I have an ultrex and I use it instead of the talon to hold in position. The ultrex solved my issues with the wind. I am running a 112 lb.

Unless you have a trolling motor with spot-lock, you are going to struggle with an aluminum boat in the wind,

Minn kota Ultrex trolling motor. Ive tried everything on my Xpress and nothing worked. My brother in-law put one on his G3. I fished with him this weekend on Palestine in the wind right in middle of lake, and I loved it. I was about ready to sell my boat and go back to a fiberglass boat. I'll be putting one on my X19 next month.

So if I get this right a fiberglass boat is impervious from being blown around by the wind.
25 mph winds and up suck no matter what your in.

I used to have an H20 Bay. Had a Motorguide Xi5. That boat would have been very difficult to control without it.

I have an Xpress 20' bay that I've only fished in area lakes and rivers, the spot lock trolling motor is the only way to go. However, don't make the mistake I made. Get the 60" shaft, as the shorter one will come out of the water while fishing even in medium swells.

Thats just the trade off with a lighter aluminum boat

X19 here w the Ultrex. My boat will hold still in all but the worst conditions. Of course we still pass blood when urinating for a few days cause shes BRUTAL in the wind getting to where you are headed. . roflmao

I often spot lock and fish off the back deck. Little boat does very well!

It's only a good cast if you catch a fish...
