So yesterday I booked the Alaskan cruise! Really stoked. We sail on Sept 7th out of Vancouver.
The lady wants to go few days early and trip around BC for a bit. I am game but what is cool to do there?

Hike up Grouse Mountain (or take the tram if she says so), then walk across the Capilano Suspension bridge.

I was there , 30 years ago , did not care for the place, only trip I have ever cut short and returned home early. Do not book a fishing trip thru your hotel. Botanical gardens are pretty. We were staying downtown for a convention, panhandlers/homeless people were thick as flies and as aggressive.
I hope you have a better experience than I did.
good luck

Hike up Grouse Mountain (or take the tram if she says so), then walk across the Capilano Suspension bridge. That bridge is awesome! We are going there for sure! So about these homeless, is there a better part of the city to stay in? We have not booked the hotel yet. Was going to look for something just close to the cruise ship terminals but if bums are going to be an issue... I will pay for a longer cab ride. I looked, they will start Uber service there on Sept. 16th. Imagine that... there are still places that do not have Uber.

Stay there. Don’t come back to Texas.
Team wolfs I had to perform. It took a minute to get it all in my mouth and another five to swallow it all.

The fish market is kind of interesting Is that Seattle or San Fran? Do all the towns in that area have these famous fish markets?

I think that is in Granville Island or at least one cool market was if I remember but it was since the 90's. We stayed outside of Vancouver in Richmond and rode a bus in to do the tourist stuff. Did not see tons of homeless but we only hit the more tourist type areas near the water.

We were there just three years ago, stayed at the Fairmont Waterfront, Club Level. Homeless people were not an issue at all, but I'm sure there are parts of Vancouver that have plenty. Granville Island shopping /roaming is a must! We walked from our hotel to Harbour Air and booked a 30 min seaplane flight that was a fantastic experience. Also did a dinner-harbour cruise the night of Canada Day and the food, fireworks, and scenery were great!
