Heading to Lake Somerville for a reunion this weekend. Never been. What’s the word on whites, hybrids, or stripers? Worth hauling boat from Lubbock? Any advice appreciated!! Thanks in advance!!

As of today, still flooded with 10.4' of water above normal pool, all boat ramps closed. People with 4 wheel drive are launching from Welch park shoreline at their own risk.
Best done with 4 x 4's, unless you have a light boat/flat bottom, I needed a tow to get my 22' Kenner out with 2 wheel drive truck, two of us barely got it out.
A couple guides with boats stored on water are working out of Overlook marina. For what towing gas from Lubbock would cost you, can probably pay for
guide service and come out about even, maybe ahead. Forecast shows possible tropical disturbance coming in from Florida towards Texas this week, to early to know
where it will be in 5-7 days.Folks getting on the water are catching whites and a few hybrids, no stripers in Somerville, have a good time at reunion smile

Much appreciated!! We will probably look for something else to do. Short trip anyway!

Take care!
