So this may be long and over explained, welcome to my general blabbering. I received a 12 foot 1971? Rebco from my uncle who didn't have a use for it anymore. Being that I've never owned a boat at all, I was super excited, spent a lot of money getting it fixed up as much as I can with my current budget. Installed nighttime nav lights, got the battery and charger, borrowed a trolling motor, and started learning more about catfishing. So far I've learned a lot about boats and cats but I only have Lake Bastrop close to me so small channels are all Ive been able to find so far. Got myself an actual fish finder, Humminbird Piranha max 4.3 DI, and I just can't resist throwing these pictures at y'all since it's probably about the most redneck thing I've done while fishing. I wanted to go out with the new fish finder but didn't want to wait for the transducer to set with the marine silicone, so I improvised. Now you can see its angled pretty far off 90 degrees, let's fix that. Pinecone does the trick So yeah, figured the small boat guys would appreciate this more Apparently I can fit this to my trolling motor with some mount, or put it on the transom. I'll find something for the transducer but feel free to give any advice or laugh at my mistakes as I am still new to boats in general

Oh yeah, and yes I also propped the boat up with my knife, my wife found that funnier than the stick as a mount

Great transducer mount For something more permanent Id recommend the stern saver Its pvc board with wells for epoxy Screw the transducer into the stern saver; then epoxy the stern saver to the bottom part of the transom You could easily make a DIY version with PVC board from HD/Lowes and some 3M5200 or epoxy But the stern saver (comes with epoxy) is on clearance at cabelas Cabelas
