I have a 22 ft. pontoon and I am looking to buy a spot lock trolling motor. Prefer a 24 volt. Any ideas as to the size, brand etc... that I might need. Only interested in the spot lock feature. Everything else it might do is just a bonus. Do not want A 36 Volt. Thank you in advance for any suggestions.

Wait until the end of next week, there should be several additional brands and models added the current ones available.

Currently Minnkota, Motor Guide, Haswing, and Rhodan have what you are looking for.

I would go for the 80 LB MK Terrova, the current model is great. I have had two MK with spot lock, and one MG, and I like the remote and power better on the MK. My friends in the salt swear by Rhodan, and I have witnessed their performance and will say it is probably better than any other. I didnt get one due to the few months it would take to get it, and there is no service for them around here.

For a 22' Pontoon you will be best going 36v over 24v. For all of the trolling motors we have installed on Pontoons/Tritoons the 36v-60" shaft i-Pilot is the majority as well as it being the electric steer vs cable steer such as the MK Ulterra, MK Terrova, MG Xi5 with a quick release mounting bracket.
ICAST is next week and Lowrance, Garmin, will be sharing full details on their trolling motor venture. MotorGuide is to re-invent the cable steer trolling motor. It will be interesting to see what the competition brings.

I would say that since Spot Lock is going to be your primary function you will likely be fine with a 24 Volt.
Spot Lock is an amazingly efficient system in respect to power draw. However if you plan on being out in 15+ mph winds for extended periods you may want to consider 36 volt. P.S. Buy the biggest and best batteries you can and use a smart charger for charging and maintenance no matter what you get.
