Lowrance Anglers Named FLW Angler of the Year and MLF Bass Pro Tour Points Champion

David Dudley and Edwin Evers Claim Season Points Titles

Lowrance®, a world-leader in fishing electronics since 1957, solidified its hold on America’s tournament-fishing circuit this weekend as Lowrance Pro David Dudley won his fourth Fishing League Worldwide (FLW) Tour Angler of the Year and Lowrance Pro Edwin Evers won the first Major League Fishing (MLF) Bass Pro Tour Points Championship. Both Dudley and Evers are equipped with Lowrance HDS LIVE displays.

Dudley, of Lynchburg, Virginia, locked in the prestigious title on Saturday at the T-H Marine FLW Tour held on Lake Champlain. He is the first angler in the history of the event to claim four titles (2019, 2012, 2011 and 2008). He narrowly edged out John Cox by just 17 points in a tightly contested race that was too close to call until Cox’s 28th place finish. Dudley, who received $100,000 for the title, will also receive an automatic berth into the 2020 FLW Cup.

Evers, from Talala, Oklahoma, started the season with four consecutive Top 10 finishes (including a win at Stage Two), and entered the Evinrude Stage Eight MLF event held at Green Lake, Wisconsin with a three-point lead in the standings. The Points Championship for the MLF Bass Pro Tour is the latest on a list of accomplishments that makes him one of the most successful tournament bass anglers in the history of the sport. He is one of only five competitors in history to pass the $3 million mark in career winnings and has recorded 11 wins, 73 Top 10s and won the 2016 Bassmaster Classic.

“To lead in a points competition after a season of fierce competition means that you are able to perform at a level that few are capable of,” said Knut Frostad, CEO, Navico. “Year after year, the list of accomplishments acheived by our Lowrance professional anglers grows. We are very proud of all of our competitors for their consistent dominance of the tournament standings.”
