Ive been planning on getting a Garmin setup strictly for livescope soon.
I had intended to get a ECHOMAP 93sv plus, but today I was in BassPro and the salesman showed me an ECHOMAP Ultra 106. He says its compatible with the $500 livescope transducer like the GPSmap instead of the $1500 one. You would get a 10 inch screen instead of the 9 inch on the 93sv plus at a lower price for the whole system.
Is there something Im missing? Is there any reason not to choose the Ultra 106 with the $500 livescope transducer over the 93sv plus with the $1500 one?

As you can see, it is true, one is cheaper and does not require the black box. However, you sacrifice a huge chunk of your viewing angle. You can only see down OR forward with the lvs12, whereas with the lvs32 you can see down, forward, and even a little behind you at the same time.

I am selling mine soon to get a matching Humminbird to link to my console, but if you are in SA I have the live scope system and you are welcome to check it out before you make a purchase.

Thanks. The pics help a lot. I didnt realize there was that much difference in the field of view. I live just outside Floresville, but would love to see the livescope in action. Ive looked at the demo units at BassPro, but Ive never seen one one the water

You are going to want the LVS32 Livescope system over the LVS12.
