Last year I went early on the 4th and very few boats on the lake. Figure the fisherman stay away and it's too early for the drunks. Off the lake by 10:00 AM.

I agree with you Kicker16. I fish Conroe a lot but you won't catch me there on a holiday

1 lock and two switches put the boat in the water. No way in hell I am on texoma tomorrow. Hell I probably won't leave the house even.

Thought we would get ahead of the crowds and be off the lake before the crazies showed up got to the Flower Mound side of the lake and the park/ramp is closed till 9am Put the cover back on the boat till another time.

had a bad pain night and didn't get to sleep until 2:00AM so didn't get to Joe Pool until 8:30. Had to replace the crank battery so it was 9:30 before I could have gotten into the water so didn't bother. My boats at the Marina there. I'll try early tomorrow if I can get some decent sleep. With health issues, you have to fish when your body lets you. At 9:30 there were more boats than last year and no way I'm staying on the lake once the wake boarders come out.

You couldn't pay me to get on a lake today or friday just isn't worth dealing with all the crazy people and drunks.

I was on Fork today and there very few boats. I'm not sure what the deal was there. You could fish anywhere you wanted. We put in at minnow bucket and there was maybe 4 or 5 trailers there. It might be crazy there tomorrow.

We got to the launch (Loyd Park on Joe Pool) at about 7 AM on the 4th--no problems. Had a good morning of fishing with nice weather. Got back to the launch about 11:30 AM, we figured we would be ahead of the party boats and for the most part we were. It was starting to get a little bit crazy but the shenanigans were not too bad. We actually enjoy watching the knuckleheads at the launch to an extent. I bet it was really entertaining last night about sunset!

The Hidden Cove side of Lewisville was very crowded in the afternoon/evening yesterday. We tried to fish a little but then left pretty quickly. The winds calmed down right at sunset and the lake seemed exceptionally calm for all the firework shows. I wish we would have stayed

Never had an issue on the Holidays... and I fish em all. We always launch about 15 minutes before daylight and have it on the trailer by about 10am or so. Pretty much have the lake to myself for 4 - 4.5 hours then go home and fire up the grill.

We went Wed night and then a quick trip yesterday morning and only saw 1 boat each trip. too bad only 1 good one per trip, by the co angler!

Only saw 2 other boats the whole time I was fishing yesterday but my day started at 4:30 am and was off the water by 10:30 am it was a very peaceful 6 hours and caught some pretty good ones also
