Hey folks! I headed on up to Illinois to fish for a couple weeks with some old family friends (the people who taught my father to fish, and thus are the reason I'm into fishing so much). Now, I realize this is the TEXAS fishing forum, but being born and raised in Texas, I figured y'all wouldn't mind seeing a Texas boy's results up in Illinois. Now, on to the fish.
Caught some really nice little crappie out there. I call it the double pond because, as you see in the video, it's two little (maybe 3 acre) ponds connected by a small ditch. One thing Illinois has that Texas doesn't have is vast national forests, littered with these ponds throughout. It's really amazing fishing for the people willing to put in the work to get to them (and let me tell you, it's a hike. Especially with a canoe. Sometimes I wonder why I do it).
Landed that nice 5 and a half pound bass (really 5.42 pounds. I round those up) on a little beetle spin. I sure love fishing sometimes.
I made a little video out of it. It's not my best work, since I was catching up with my buddy, Mark, the whole time. But I think it's still worth a watch, and I really do appreciate the support and feedback y'all give me. Hope you enjoy!
