JJ's for me. I always dip in advance to minimize spills & bag them up. I've opened bags weeks later that will still knock you down.

"What are you trying to catch with that bait, a shark?"

Hands down JJs. Spike it goes bad too quick for my liking.

Ive had a bottle of spike in my cup holder for a year. Still smells, dyes and catches fish!

When I am not fishing I am thinking about fishing. And mostly what I should have done differently my last trip!

I prefer JJ's but I don't use it much in the summer. That stuff is a bit volatile when it gets hot. A JJ's explosion is not fun to deal with. There's something about that stuff though, it seems to work better. I dip my jigs and plastics in the clear JJ's and you probably don't even need a hook to get the fish to the boat.

THIS^^^

I opened slowly per directions for years, and then...one time, in the heat of a blistering summer day, I didn't.
It was chartreuse. That was over one year ago. I think I still smell it on my hand, and I know the dude's boat I defiled still proudly displays the evidence of having survived a nuclear attack.

"Slow ahead." I can go slow ahead. Come on down here and chum some of this [censored].

Sinner. Far from perfect. Forgiven.

The JJ's magic soaks into the bait and has a stronger scent than the Spike it. In a pinch, I will still use the Spike it as it is tried and true, but overall the JJ's seems to be the better product. IMO

I may have combined jars to make a 50/50 batch for the best of both worlds.
