Pond King Honors the Men and Women of the U.S. Military
Patriots for Patriots – a video contest

Gainesville, Texas, July 3, 2019 — Pond King, Inc, a small manufacturing company just outside of Gainesville, Texas, is putting their money where their mouth is when it comes to honoring the men and women of the U.S. Military by giving away 5 Patriot pontoon fishing boats, one to a patriot from each branch of the U.S. military.

Inspired by an order placed as a gift for a WWII Navy Veteran, Pond King has decided to do more than just get more Americans fishing with this pontoon boat. Pond King is conducting a video contest, Patriots for Patriots, where anyone can nominate an active duty serviceman or woman or veteran of the U.S. Military to win a Patriot two-man fishing pontoon boat.

David Terhune, the customer who ordered a Patriot for his dad, WWII Veteran, Daniel Webster Terhune, had this to say referring to the Patriot, the contest, and his nephew, Captain Eric “D-Ring” Terhune, who lost his life while serving in the Marines: “What you are doing with this boat and its connection with “patriots” and veterans and sacrifice … and the FACT that freedom is not free but comes with a price … will be a HUGE encouragement to my dad and to the other patriots who win these boats. Every time my dad steps off our little dock and onto this boat, he will be reminded of his 34 years with Eric … the wonderful times they had fishing and hunting together … and the heroic sacrifice Eric made.”

Submissions can be made at https://pondking.com/pages/patriots-for-patriots starting July 4 at 8:00 A.M (CST). Winners will be selected by public voting at the same location. The Nomination video with the most votes in each branch at 11:59 P.M. (CST) on October 27, 2019, will be the winner. The five winners will be announced on Veterans Day, Monday, November 11, 2019, and each will receive a Pond King Patriot fishing boat customized with their name, along with a fishing gear package to help them fully enjoy their boat – all shipped for free.

“We are grateful to the men and women who have served our country and are pleased to provide an opportunity for more people to share their stories” said Owner and Founder, Brad Metzler. “The entire staff is excited to be a part of Patriots for Patriots and we want to give a shout out to our partners who are getting on board by donating fishing gear to help make these boats even more enjoyable; Whisker Seeker Tackle and Xcite Baits”
