No, not this one. This is just a little sunfish I caught on the Guadalupe early this morning while sneaking in a few casts before work.

The bite was slow on the Guad so I thought I'd head across town to the Comal and try my luck there. I had some luck, all right. eek Caught this big hybrid after yanking my new roostertail out of a tree:

Being a new lure the hook was real sharp, and it was embedded pretty deep. Since I'm right-handed having a hook buried in my right arm meant a trip to urgent care to get it removed. At least the doc and a couple of nurses had a good laugh.

I'm not complaining, mind you. Instead of a lollipop I convinced the doc to give me the pair of forceps he used when he was all done!

All joking aside I was lucky I caught it in the arm and not the face!

At least you got some forceps out of the deal. I did the same thing to myself on Father's Day at LBL, though thankfully I didn't manage to get the hooks into the skin, just through my fishing shirt. Everytime I hang up in a tree I tell myself don't tug...then I do.

I went fishing again this morning and my wife asked if I managed to get a matching wound on my left arm.

Thats why we all wear sunglasses, They are more than just for seeing under water.

I'll share a short story. I hooked myself in the upper arm past the barb (size 2). No way to pull it out. I managed to push the hook point back out my skin so it was exposed, now I had 2 holes in me. I gave my buddy a pair of dykes and he cut the hook in half, all I did after was pull the shank out the way it came in and we continued on fishing.

I was planning on handling it the way you did, except I was fishing solo, and when I got home my wife was too squeamish to assist. Lol, mind you, this is the same woman who enjoys watching that autopsy show on basic cable!
