Nothing like driving 2 hours to Fork and knocking the transducer off in the first 30 minutes. Anyone switch back to the metal mounting bracket?

That sucks. I've got stainless, aluminum and composite on the transom and I think I like the aluminum the best. Bends easily but....it bends easily.

Been there before. Did you have it mounted to the transom? I always either mount it to the side of the jack-plate or use one of these if I'm mounting it directly to the transom. https://www.transducershieldandsave...nsom-style-transducer-on-a-transom-copy/

Ditch that plastic mount, bad design by people that don't really fish. At least with the metal, it just bends and you can bend it back to salvage the day.

That said, hopefully you got it fixed instead of driving home. It's easy to rig up a short term solution or a shop around there probably has the metal bracket.

I wish they would come up with a thru-the-hull transducer for DI/SI.

I have older model skeeter and did the same several times with metal and plastic brackets. Switched to metal bracket and mounted on the step. No depth when on plane since it’s out of water but works fine otherwise and quit knocking it off. Link to bracket used below.

I put mine under the boat like in the picture but if you can't do that check out transducer shield and saver like someone suggested above.
