Aw, l don't let a little moisture get in the way of chasing slabs. Just have the opportunities limited to ponds and lakes for the most part. Most every day fishing this week I reckon. fish

I usually don't fish holiday w-ends but if I did it would be a very early trip so I'd be off the water before it got busy.....

I got skunked on Lake Geneva last week. Was there for work, it was 97 degrees every day. At least my hotel had AC...my company's facility and all of the restaurants? Not so much. The trout all went deep, so fishing from shore was a waste of time.

Thankfully I got to fish LBL on Sunday. Caught a bunch of small bluegill and sunfish and one nice (3.55 lb) largemouth, all in the rain. Once the rain stopped so did the bite.

Heading to the ancestral homeland (Rhode Island) for ten days starting on the 4th. Hope to fish the ponds I fished as a kid with my dad in his canoe at least a couple of times.

Just to let you guys know how we did at Calaveras today. BAD. We fished numerous places that had produced a few years ago.
Crappie wall, reed beds in various places, road bed telephone pole area and underneath the railroad bridge. Nada. Only a few small perch. Maybe it was the
day or maybe the scuttlebutt is right. Things are not good at Cal.

But... the Poor Boy Plus and ice tea is always good at Bill Miller BBQ at 1604 and 87 !! We hit it early today. grin

I have not heard of a good sunfish report out of Cally in over two years. It has been that long since I have fished for sunfish on that lake. If I do fish Cally for sunnies it will be sometime in early November! hmmm

Got up early and fished the Guadalupe for a solid five hours this morning. Caught a couple of fat redbreasts on the fly rod, and had a trout rise to the wooly bugger I was throwing but I couldn't get it to bite. It was still nice to get out of the office.

My local creek has been on fire these past two days with 7-9 inch Red breasts and Rios on the fly. Even managed a couple of 8" Bluegills this morning. All brand of Sun fish are on the beds and some of the ones I caught were fat and peeing. Creek bass are chasing dragon flys and are taking Llano Bugs pretty regularly. But dad blame it where are those 10" Gills? noidea
