Gentleman and Ladies,

I am hesitant on writing this only because it will cause me to have to follow through.....

I am sure this has been done before, but I was wondering if there would be any interest in a weekly, to once a month, white bass tournament followed by a 10 minute devotional. I am not a preacher and quite frankly out of my comfort zone. However, I have been on a mission to really try and step up my active faith, and I need a reason to justify to my wife why I need to fish more! smile

I envision this to be a low key, no fire and brimstone type of message. Just a group of folks coming together to fish, share a few stories, and come together in the word. I want it to be affordable, so something like $20 to $25 a boat, with half going to charity and the other half to the winner. I do not have everything figured and and welcome suggestions.

I am open to making it on a different lake each time. If this is something you would be interested in, please let me know. If we do not have enough interest, it's all good. Just willing to put something together if there is. Comment below if you are interested! Thanks again! Brett

Count me in. That would be great. Maybe even have an evening event every now and then. I think $25 a boat is reasonable.
Just a simple fun fellowship event. Best of 10 kind of thing.

I can't afford the tournaments and rarely catch what I am targeting.
I would however be interested in stopping in for the devotional if I am fishing out of same ramp as tournament.
Will keep an eye out for when and where you are meeting.

Love the idea! Maybe extend it to 20-30 after a few meets. 10 minutes is just enough to get folks to thinking. Then build on it. Just my thoughts. God gave us the water, fish and great outdoors! Great opportunity to give thanks and hopefully touch those that need it!

I'm IN. I am also a Lay Pastor at my church and "preach" at the local Assisted Living Center. So I can help with that too..

Definitely agree... was thinking of making this a working man's type tournament ... so held on a weekday which is why I said 10 minutes or so. 2 hours fish time followed by a devotion. If we had it on a Saturday then it would open up to more time. I'm flexible to how we set it up and am open to changing things as we go if we get the buy in.

I'd be in on this if the time and locations worked out. You might consider Saturday morning, first light to mid morning or something, get started early and then get off the lake early before it gets too crazy.

I'm in Parker county but will travel any where and everywhere. I want to make it convenient to everyone if possible. Would a weekend be better than a working mans tournament Monday through Friday tournament?

I'm interested...

I like the idea of changing lakes. I'm open to either format...week days or weekends. I'd be more into fishing to 2 or 3pm though...

I like the idea, and Im interested if some of the West of the DFW area lakes were on the list. Bridgeport, PK, etc. I could probably do a few metroplex lakes as well if they were on weekends.
