Hey guys. I was on the water yesterday and my ultrex locked up on me. When I would turn it on the power head turns as far left as it could go and would just lock. Turn it off and move the head back to straight and as soon as I turn it on it would turn all the way left and lock up again. The thrust still worked but no steering. The remote would not work either. This is a new ultrex, got it installed 2 months ago. Anyone have any insight as to what it might be? Thanks for any insight. I'm about to call MK

They said it could be some connection somewhere. I tried rebooting and all that stuff but nothing. Foot pedal would go all the way to the floor on the front part and it was stuck. I could move the head with my hands while powered off to face straight but it would immediately go all the way back down as soon as I powered it back up. Guess I have to take it in now. Not something i really wanted to do with a 2mo tm

Does the ultrex have a remote? Just wonder if you unplugged the the foot pedal and used the remote, if that worked.

It does have a remote. It would not work on the water but that was with the foot pedal plugged in. I'll give that a try before I send in the whole thing

Yeah because if it works with the remote, you know it is the foot peddle. And you will probably plug the foot peddle back in and it will magically work again. grin

It's the steering module in the foot pedal. Small electronic pad that controls the head as you use foot pedal. Easy 10 min fix.

If you guys are running Humminbirds and the Ultrex, they have the ability to provide you with an alternative to the remote. Once your iPilot is connected. hit the start button on the 'Bird once. A duplicate to the remote will pop up. Then you push + to jog forward, - to jog back, and the right/left button to jog either of those directions. It can also be used to move from point A to point B.

This is only if you have the i-Pilot Link system. It will not do this on the i-Pilot system alone.
