I just had a new ecu installed after the old 1996 200 merc had problems stalling during runs. The new brucado unit started out with adjustment problems. My mechanic spent an hour on the water tuning it in . It runs much better now and the only issue now seems to be slow throttle at take off. Any of you using brucado ecu and experienced this?

My 96 200efi has had a Brucato ACU since 06, dialed it in , runs good at all throttle settings.
when you say "take off" I assume you are talking about hole shot.
Many variables to that, I/E prop, jackplate height , motor condition, weight, boat length/condition, etc etc.
Shorter answer is no .

I recently installed a Brucato ACU on a '96 200 EFI and have noticed that the hole shot is not the same as before. However, I just slapped the ACU on and went fishing. I have not done any adjustments.

Thanks for the answers on the ecu. Yes there are several variables on take off, however it wasn't one of the problems previously with the merc ecu. That said once I started having problems with the old merc ecu it was I wonder what next like No start , start fine and run good for a half mile and quit so I was forced to get a new one. I believe this will be a good choice as several others in the area like their performance. Just wondering if there was a simple answer to the slow throttle at lower mid range take off. Mind you all in all, it is much better than the last experiences with the old one. However it did last since 96. Thanks again Ken

Reach out to Rich at Brucatto and let him know what you are seeing. He was active on BBC for many years helping people solve their problems. Call and ask to talk to him.
