Fished Athens from the kayak on Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning, hunting sunnies for a few fish fries. Brought home 15 good sized ones and probably tossed about 20 back, along with a few bass, crappie and one catfish. All fish caught on small jigs, in green, gold or pink. Nice fish. Side Note: How deep were you catching them From 10 feet to 5 feet. Sorry about the upside-down pic; no idea why that happened or how to fix it.

Sweet...One of my favorite lakes for bull gills!
Katchin krappie...doin surgeries(filleting)...and givin hott grease baths until krunchy and golden brown is what it's all about!!!

I am on a fishing hot streak. Hit the Galveston surf early Saturday morning with my son and found gentle waves and relatively clear water - rare for Galveston. We also found 20 speckled trout using spoons and Rattletraps. Freezer now stocked with sunnies and specs - good eating ahead!

All the fish I caught appeared to be healthy, except for one redear sunfish that had a sore on its side. If you are referring to their weight, they looked fine to me (and the first batch tasted delicious!).
