The world does not owe you anything, work hard and earn what you want, it will always mean more to you.

Money can't buy you happiness, but the lack of money can cause you much unhappiness.

Learn from your mistakes and enjoy your successes.

Don't dwell on negative things.

Start saving now for retirement.

There will always be another ball game, another day to work, another day to mow the yard....but the days being able to sit and play with your children are very limited.

Be Happy.

Don't be afraid to JUMP....most people sit safely and take the conservative route. Every failure....and there will be plenty is a step closer to success. And there is no better time than when your young and bolder. Like...what do you have to loose...your house? car?

If you got time to lean, you got time to clean....

Nobody will work harder for you, than you....

Don't spend a lot of money on things that will not appreciate...

Take a course in budgeting...

Wealth is not determined by how much a man spends but rather how much he saves.

Regardless of what mommy and daddy says...you cannot be whatever you want to be. Find your talent and make a living. Pay your taxes and vote.

I try to encourage graduates to become a person to the professor and not a number. Even if you understand the content, schedule an appointment, make something up and go make them think you care. I also elaborate that the amount of time they are about to have will allow for all of their activities. Many kids are going from attending school 8am to 330pm plus whatever they do extra such as sports, band, ag, ect… 20 to 25 hours a week in college will put you in a position to be successful. Use the other 40 your awake for whatever you want or get a job.

Eat more Chinese food. Best bang for the buck.

A good rule of angling philosophy is not to interfere with another fisherman's ways of being happy, unless you want to be hated.

My dad once told me, "There are three things in life that can make a grown a** man do almost anything. Fear, money, and p****y. You control them or they'll control you." He also sent me exactly one letter when I was in Marine Corps boot camp. It was a long letter, but it contained the encouraging advice at the time, "Remember, you're no worse than the man in front of you, and no better than the man behind you." He was a former Marine himself and knew of what he spoke.
