Either will work just fine in that regard. Fast or Extra fast. A lot depends on the individual rod itself and the way it fishes. Since there are no industry standards you will see a lot of variance brand to brand in models of same length, action and power.

Neither. You want an extra heavy/moderate tip. A moderate tip makes walking easier and keeps from setting the hook too fast.

Since there are no industry standards you will see a lot of variance brand to brand in models of same length, action and power. This is so true. You will have to test out the action of the rod and determine how well it will work. You need good tip action but plenty of backbone. I use a Dobyns Extreme 705. I like a 7ft rod because I can still get a long cast with it and I can walk the frog better with it than a longer rod. Most seem to prefer a 7-2 to 7-3 ft rod.

Also depends on what kinda frog fishing you do and where. I use 3, 6'11 for skipping close quarters, a 7'6 all around, and an 8' Xtra heavy for super thick solid pads.

Why not a Dean Rojas signature edition or Ish Monroe rod? Ish uses a Steez SVF XBD 76 XH/moderate. He has a frog rod with his name on it also, it has similar action as the Steez as well.

Ish's main signature frod rod is a 7' 4" H with fast tip. It comes in two versions. One with AGS guides and one without. He has a 7' 9" H with fast tip in both models too.

But, hey, maybe thats why hes on a downhill slide lately....lol. Hes using the wrong action.
