When my children were babies, we would watch the TV with the sound off with subtitles when they were sleeping.
Haven't turned off subtitles since. Just sort of got in the habit of reading what the announcers say.

my wife has selective hearing. We use subtitles for her.
Just want to make folks smile, and spit coffee on their keyboard.

I use CC and hate on on ESPN baseball. They cover up the score box.

You can turn your volume down to 30 when you are using CC.. The volume on my tv is rarely higher than 13, and we never use closed captioning.
Team wolfs I had to perform. It took a minute to get it all in my mouth and another five to swallow it all.
