This is a myth carried over from the days of paper graphs. All graphs have a flasher mode if that is what you need or want. They also have the Amplitude Scope if you prefer. The right edge of a graph is as real time as is possible with any dephfinder.

Neither of them are any good if you don't know how to use them. Me, I want the latest and greatest. I like to see those stumps and rocks on the bottom with side scan and sonar side by side.

Might be a reason he currently is last in AOY points and was 97 in 2017 and 2018. Tough to compete in the smart phone world while staring at the flip phone.
