I live in Flower Mound. Annual boat ramp passes arent cheap. If you had your choice which lake would you fish? I like to catch black bass, sandies, and blues. I hear Grapevine could add smalliss to the list which would be noce. I prefer quantity over quality most of the time. Any thoughts or ideas?

Grapevine or Lewisville?
single choice

GV ramp at Murrell is free, so why not buy a Lew pass and that way you can fish either of them.

There ya go....
I haven't been on Grapevine in 15 years because I have been waiting for Okie to take me out , I think Lewisville is better for sandies and catfish.

If youre willing to accept the bottom of the barrel, yes, Ill take ya out. We whacked em good during spawn until I blew up the motor at the end of April, but most of my time in the last couple of years have been on Lew. I stink there, too, but heard youre the one to follow. When you gonna show me the Lew clue?

since you live in Flower Mound you should be able to get a reduced rate resident launch pass for that side of Grapevine. Beware of Lewisville lake passes, there are several different cities involved and their passes are only good on their ramps... no pass good for the whole lake. I have caught several smallies on Grapevine but remember Lewisville has Spotted bass and also hybrids.

Either lake is terrible on the nice weekends due to the crowds....

You got that right! Yesterday made me be very thankful that Ive got a job that allows me to fish during the week. Weekend boating traffic is outta my wheelhouse.

I would think fishing with Okie in the Red Ranger something may rub off on you from the Legendary Red Ranger himself... unless its been detailed and de-gunshow funkified... you may even find an old pair of pink socks
