Any reports for west bay or the Jettys? Looking for some trout, reds, drum, and flounder from the boat! Any help would be appreciated!

Its windy. And a lot of fresh water has displaced the fish. The wind is blowing big big slugs of fresh water around displacing even more making it hard to stay consistent. Every day is a whole new pattern. If you land on the X you will catch a lot. If not....not.
There are trout and reds against the rocks early for those that know how to catch em. Also some trout deep near heavy structure in 10-15ft of water. Lot of undersize but keepers in there with em.

Some flounder and reds in the back marsh stuff but the wind right now will likely make that a no go.

Hasn't rained much in a while here.. Galveston County. The winds have been blowing pretty hard out of the South for a while now. That means pushing the water inland...so salinity levels are pretty much at the norm. I don't expect the bays will be bothered with freshwater. Not many catching reports lately but if one can find places protected from the wind, you may just snag something. Rain chances are Supposed to increase the next couple of days around here but that remains to be seen. BTW, the water has been pretty muddy lately..

I love this topic, albeit hope this is on topic here...you Galveston people.. heh. I grew up in Houston. Okay.. I lied.. I never "grew up"..lol.. but, when I was about.. hrm.. below the age of 8 I think, we used to go off the jetties and fish for macks and redfish etc in a 13' Boston Whaler.

I am dying to take my boat out there some day this year or next, but am not sure where to go etc to get to the jetties, i.e. good ramp, safe place to park the truck, easy access for my boat. I am new to this boat, so going to stick to Port A for now, but it would really be awesome to take my kids there and fish off the jetty some day.

Would love to know where you all go and where good bait can be found etc, and where you get gas from down there. I try not to haul 100+ gallons of gas back and forth from Austin heh
