My wife went and bought a kayak last weekend, so now it's my time to come up with a small fishing rig.
I have been looking on the web and found a raft that is made in commiefornia. So I figure I can make one myself and save a bunch of money, as well as place my own ideas into the mix. So, after buying 2 4x8 sheets of #2 Polystyrene foam, boat seat pin and base, ordered some durabak 18, its time to build my own raft.
Pics will be posted as I progress through the build.
Wish me luck!

Well the construction went good on day one.
Didn't start good though when the liter of 1835 Bourbon broke in the backseat of our truck on the way home. but decided to work through the tears.
Mounted the seat base, the sheets of aluminum and cut the notch for the trolling motor.Tomorrow I will glue the 2 sheets together and trim the bow so it is radiused to help climb the waves..
Bed liner should be here sometime next week, so there will be some down time. [Linked Image]

Interesting. You may want to consider weight distribution and do some tests before getting in too deep. And remember to always wear a life jacket.

So what happened to this project?
Very curious.

The difference between winners and losers:
Winners blame themselves for their failures and strive to get better.
Losers blame everybody else and give up.

I am sure many will be disappointed to find that the raft has not sunk. It did So It me overboard on the maiden voyage when I got too close to the rear corner..
I did put the seat too far back, so I will move it forward a bit after summer is over.

i think if you added another layer of foam, made some strakes or keel and weight evenly distributed it should serve well...there was a guy on here that made those and then was asked to make more & sell them, he would be a good contact for you, I am not sure of his name I believe it was Mr Sir but not sure . oh well, float & fish
