Lake Fork Anglers Hard Core (Major League Fishing format) is pretty cool getting to count every fish you catch.

As described below section 1 is all of Big Caney, Section 2 is from where section 1 ends and goes north to the FM 515 West bridge. Section 3 is everything from the 515 w bridge north.

Like the real TV show every fish over 10" counts. You must catch 6 LB + in one of the qualifying, and fish at least 6 tournaments to move into the semi-final. We set it low so most of our members would make to the second level. But there is three ways to qualify.

Today, June 20 we fished section 3. It started out around 76 and then got hot around 11 AM. We are now fishing our summer hours. 6 AM until noon to save our old brains from frying in the hot sun. Registration began at 5:45 AM and fishing started at 6:00 AM.

Members survived the BIG storms last night. We had some real bad straight line winds in Garrett Bay with a lot of big trees down. Getting out of the only street was a challenge. Fishing was tough today for most but there are always some that catch them good.

The winners catching all of their fish using c-rigs, t-rigs, rattle traps, drop shots and top waters.
Most of todays bass were caught in 10 feet or less.

Boaters:

First place went to Charlie Abresch of Hawkins with 4 bass for 11.87 LB. with a lunker of 5.94 LB. caught on a black worm
Second place went to Tom Charlebois of Winona with 2 bass for 9.5 LB with the BOATER lunker of 7.58 LB. on a jig..
Third place went to Bill Ailes of Sulphur Springs with 2 fish for 7.89 LB. with a lunker of 4.58 LB..
Fourth place went to Don Overstreet of Sulphur Springs with 4 bass for 5.56 LB with a 2.36 LB lunker
Fifth place went to Curt Blount of Lake Fork with 3 bass for 4.59 LB. with a 3.39 LB lunker.

Co-Anglers

Second place went to Jackie Price of Alba with 5 bass for 5.94 LB with a 2.31 LB lunker.
Third place went to George McCane of Dallas with 2 bass for 4.63 LB with a 3.62 LB lunker.

Fifth place went to Bob Lambert of Lavon with 3 bass for 3.83 LB with a 2.61 LB lunker..

38 Total fish were caught today with 6 skunks.

For info on fishing this tournament and others put on by the Lake Fork Anglers contact me at sjbasser@aol.com or PM me on here. We have openings for both boaters and co-anglers right now. This is a club that fishes only on Thursday daytime. Dues are $5 a year. The money winners explain their techniques and baits for the benefit of the other members at the weighin.

All of our tournaments are priced for seniors as follows. $15 entry Payback of $12. Optional lunker pool 100% payback of $5. Optional 100% payback side pot for $10 per person.

In addition to this format that we call "Hard Core" we also fish our regular every other Thursday tournament all at Lake Fork on a draw style fishing. All of our tournaments "paper" the bass and slot fish count.

If you are as "Hard Core" as some of us you can fish 48 Thursdays a year like we do. And one Fridays too. And then Opens on the weekend. But you only really have to fish 8 regular LFA tournaments to maintain membership.

Hey we are seniors and we are supposed to be doing something to keep us healthy and our minds sharp and get some vitamin D. LOL At least that is what you need to tell your wife.
