We are headed to Rockport for a week. My trolling motor is the freshwater version, would I regret using it? What about not using it but it would still be exposed to the elements? Debating if I should remove it before the trip. Whats your thoughts?

You'll be fine just make sure you wash it off with fresh water as soon as you can after you're done fishing each day.
You get out of it what you put into it!

Clean it and spray it top to bottom with WD-40. Soap and water wash it as soon as you are out of water and spray it top to bottom with WD-40. Repeat as often as you drop it in salt water. Good luck.

Look, if you're dead set on doing it, at least try to keep it alive. Cover all the electrical connections in the head and the pedal with liquid electric tape.
