That's pretty good. Are you measuring distance? I'd guesstimate that would come out to about 12 - 13 miles based on a typical 30 inch stride.

Not exactly, but the route that I exercise on will usually take 9,500 steps to get around 4.5mi. For instance today, I am at 13,024 steps and it says 6.4mi walking + running distance. I do a combination walk/jog workout and it equals out to about half walk and half jog, unless my knee is hurting worse that day.

Nothing better than storms and kid problems waking you up at 2:45am in the morning....Good thing this old went to bed at 9pm last night. Have a great Sunday and Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there...also, is it too late to say, "Go Tiger"?

Same here! They are wide eyed and hungry now. Guess that Father's Day breakfast will start EARLY!

I started back on the new lifestyle change on May 20th, weighing in at 233. With increased exercise and eating lesser portions at the right times, I'm proud to say that today's weight is 228. I'm not eating perfect when I sit down to eat, just lesser amounts. You should've seen my lunch plate at Salt Grass for Father's Day....nothing small about it, appetizers and all. So, yes....I do cheat occasionally, but not very often. I will continue to post weekly step count totals and weight loss or gain ever so often. Join in if you'd like. This is starting to become fun. Have a great remainder of your week.....Okie cheers

I let myself go about a month ago. I'm feeling it.

I started back to working out last week, and cutting sugar. It's time to hold myself accountable!

Stretch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

KD, life has been crazy and I haven't checked out that youtube stuff, but I'm planning to take a look at it this weekend.

For a summary, I started at 237 on Feb 18, posted here awhile back at 230, and I'm at 221 now. Happy with my progress, but I made a healthy wager bet to get to 200 by August 18, so I'm going to need to kick this in high gear to get there. Thinking keto might be a good option, so that's why I'm planning to check out the resources KD mentioned.

Hope you guys are doing well. One of you is down 50 lbs - freaking awesome. Keep it up

I’ve been on a healthy eating diet since the first of May. My goal is to loose one pound per week for a year. That will be 52 pounds. So far so good. I don’t think those loose massive amounts of weight in a short period of time are long lasting diets.

Holy goodness. What do I need to do to make this work? I'm 5'11" and 230. Relatively fit arms and legs - just hold an extra 40 lbs in my gut. I think a good diet is what I need since I'm very active - it's no trouble at all for me to hit 10k steps per day.

What is the keto diet in a nutshell. I've obviously heard of it, but don't know much about it.

Keto diet is high fat, some protein, low carb diet. It forces the body to burn fat rather can burn carbs. It’s a very hard diet for me to stay with. I’m eating what I want but in a lot lower doses.

My goal is to continue high step counts and eat at the right time with smaller helpings. I’m trying not to eat anything after 6pm. Basically, my lifestyle change is to burn more calories than what I am consuming. My weight is 233 now and I’m 5’11”. We may be twins. I’ll post occasionally when I see weight loss, but I know if I keep a high step count, exercise, and eat right.....it’ll come off slow. I want to get down to 220 and I haven’t been there in close to 20 years. First things, first. Good Luck!

Believe it or not Okie, charts show you overweight at 5'11" until you get below 180. That's skinny.
