Hi yall, are there any fishing guides (or anyone really) in the Corpus area that provide basic beginner boating lessons? I am looking into purchasing my first boat but have 0 experience driving and handling a boat. Thanks!

I can do that.
I am in Rockport area once or twice a month.
I am a full time guide with a 100 ton Masters license and 35 years of boating experience. I put about 400+ hours a year on my boat.
Start with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Boater Safety Course. You can do it online.
Also look into your local Power Squadron.

Good on ya for seeking some help and education. Too many idiots would just go out and learn very expensive lessons the hard way. Make sure you spend plenty of time in the bays and even freshwater lakes to learn how to handle your boat. No sense in throwing in variables like currents, tides and high seas while you are figuring things out.
