Had to install a new fishfinder transducer because the boot the wires run through had somehow been pulled out and away from the transducer. Figured out how to maybe fix that problem on the new install by running the cable thru/underneath the breakaway and then behind it. Tested the breakaway action and all looked good. Ive always ran the wire behind the breakaway but never thru/under and then behind. Ive always ran it around the outside of the transducer and then behind the breakaway which can allow it to get caught on sumpin. The new method should protect it better now but well see. The old one was beat all to heck though anyways and they usually only last about two years on my rig.

Next, I built a new bait tank holder stand out of 1 1/4 pvc for now. One reason for this is because it wont rust from going down to the coast and another is, youll spend a lot of money and time building something out of metal or aluminum that you think is gonna be the cats meow, and then after using it a few times you find out you cant stand it or you hate it, or it sucks for whatever reason. Gonna just test this setup for now but it still cost 150 bones just to build that. Lol!

Next, I took the boat out for a test run to test everything out in 30 mph winds. The bait tank only ran for about 30 minutes and the pump wasnt pumping that hard. My fishinder was also showing 12.2 volts on a full charge battery and that wasnt no good either so I had to end up changing two batteries out, but got em for free since neither one lasted a year on the warranty. Academy takes the batteries back but I usely only get a year of free batteries and then I buy new ones the next year.

But, before I changed the batteries out, I pulled up to the marina and tied my boat off real quick to throw my net in some of the slips to see if any bait was around. I threw twice and looked up and my boat was floating away. I looked around real quick and nobody was around so I had to just say blue set 42 blue set 42 hut and take off running and Swan dive in!!! I caught it right before it got to the other bank. Dont know how that happened but anyways the water felt great! I was soakin wet from head to toe though. Just glad I had my bigboy pants and boots on cause I dove in and had to swim through some junk!!!! LMAO!!!!!!

On a side note, since my boat has been undergoing maintenance, I just had to get out of the house/work and get on the water a couple of weeks ago for some other species fishing. So I booked a striper trip with Micheal Houston with Houstons Guide Service. Pardners Micheal is working harder than a lot of people I know right now and doing what he does isnt easy. We had a dang good time. If you have a chance to book a trip with Mike book ya one. He will do the best he can do for you no matter what or how tired he is to put you on em.

I'm jealous. Especially with the cabin. I was lucky last weekend when my live well pump quit working. Clogged intake filter. Never knew it was there until I started to trace the problem.
