I can catch shad up north at 36 bridge and west cliff area , but now the lake is flooded and those boat ramps are closed so i have to try to catch bait on the south end of Belton lake , I can launch on Ft.Hood and run up to the dam area , does anybody know of area's that the shad spawn at on the south end of Belton lake? Any help would be appreciated , and thank you.

I don't know if this will help any but shad are easier in the afternoon on Buchanan than in the mornings right now. Late afternoon they are running the banks

Check out Holding the Line guide service. Bob has been catching 30 to 45 keeper hybrids on most trips. He is using a combination of lures and live shad with a little downrigger fishing mixed in. I have had poor luck on the last 3 trips with a few hybrids and a few white bass. I went in the afternoon to the 36 Bridge and found lots of shad in several locations. It looks like a good year for shad and will make for a great summer. I have found no rising fish at Temple Lake Park on 3 day break trip. The water is coffee colored and look like Tawakoni water. My results have been less than satisfactory but others are catching fish.
