Went fishing today at Hall's Bayou. As usual, we stopped at Buc-ee's in Texas City. They have the new gas pump area with non-ethanol gas. I used a pump that was pretty close to the store and put a little gas in my boat. 87 octane was $1.949 a gallon! When I was finished, I walked over to one of those new non-ethanol pumps. $3.43 a gallon!?!?! WOW!

One of the marinas on Lake Travis is selling it for $4.50/gal. Not gonna happen.

Maybe this is a "normal" price for this stuff. Gasoline with ethanol is already expensive enough. I am not paying $3.43.

The price of non-ethanol gas is a HUGE rip-off. Given the cost of 10%E 87 octane of $2.40 there is only 1 ounce of ethanol (current price is $1.61)per gallon of gas at $0.10 per ounce, the other 15 ounces at of pure gas costs around $0.17 per ounce. That means non-ethanol should only cost $2.72 or lesser gallon. I know there are taxes in the mix so I could be off a few pennies. A whole dollar or two per gallon is just wrong.

Supply and demand folks with convenience added. I have to drive 40 miles to Bowie for 4.35 Ethenol free gas. Now that Bucees in Denton is there and has it, I will go there (half the distance) and be happy to pay 3.50.

At the lake, we are ten minutes from Wolf Creek Park so I buy it at the marina. I dont know what it costs there. Ten minutes is ten minutes.

I looked the other day while filling up and the taxes were posted on the side of the pump, I think it was a total of .38 per gallon of tax.

I had just over $1600 worth of damage to my Merc's entire fuel system bc of the 10% E-gas. I wonder how many gallons of E-Free gas that would have bought!!

I was in Waco last week and found ethanol free at Walmart in the $2.75 range. I pay $1 more here in Athens at the feed store.

just use regular gas and add B-12 at about .20 cents an ounce. Must be over 18 to buy because the kids sniff the stuff. 1/2 the price of Seafoam.

Excuse my ignorance, but the only B12 I know of is a vitamin. What are you talking about?

Thats insane! Love that location though- Great tackle selection. How was the fishing? I reside near there on Chocolate. Passed by it this morning on my way to Galveston for some specks. The water looked pretty muddy but compared from last few weeks, its improving.

Fishing was better. We caught 25 bass, no redfish. When I say 25, I mean everything from 10" to 2.5 pounds. We use medium light action rods and small crankbaits. We can't help what gets on the line!

The water looked better, also. I still can't time the tides at Alligator Point with Hall's Bayou. It was supposed to be high tide at 8:00am. At noon, the tide had still not turned.
