Evinrude Launches New 3-Cylinder E-TEC G2 Models


Evinrude announced today the expansion of the revolutionary Evinrude E-TEC G2 product line to include 115 H.O., 140HP and 150HP models. Evinrude�s extended line-up is designed to give more boaters confidence on the water - in any situation.

Shattering the paradigm for mid-range outboards, the new models house a direct injection inline three-cylinder powerhead. Delivering refined running quality, and quiet operation, the 115 H.O., 140HP and 150HP models enhance the complete boating experience. With more torque and fuel efficiency at lower RPMs than comparable four-stroke engines, the new E-TEC G2 models give boaters extended cruising capabilities and more power whenever it�s needed. Evinrude now packs next-generation technology such as digital shift and throttle, the iTrim control system, digital instrumentation, custom color panels and optional iSteer dynamic power steering into outboards from 115 H.O. to 300 horsepower. Evinrude also added a new look and feel for the 2020 product year. All E-TEC G2 engines will have new premium graphics and give owners the option of white or slate gray frame and two new propellers. In addition, the 115 H.O. and 140 models will be available with premium controls and gauges, as well as a tiller option that feature touch troll and trim switches, LED�s for basic diagnostics and an NMEA 2000 connection for integration with external gauges and accessories.

You don�t change oil in 2stroke engines. That is why

"No oil changes" sounds much better than "you must mix oil and gas for the rest of your life." Ha!

For all I know these new models have a work-around for fuel/oil blending where it has some separate oil reservoir. Didn't care to look.

Seriously though, at least in the small boat motor market, old 2 strokes are in pretty high demand. A neighbor needed one for a small jon boat, found one in Florida and bought it.

Looks like OMC has done it again. They stay on the cutting edge of technology. I think they build an excellent motor. To get away from oil changes would be a great thing. The only thing I like about four stock motors is the quiet operation.
