Gents, Thinking of trying something new this weekend and go out to Holbrook. Be nice to see some new water for a change. Any advice as far as running the lake and which ramp is best? I would think there is going to be fish shallow and moving out deep. Thanks guys!

There are always shallow fish on Holbrook. You can run outside the buoys just fine. If you go north past the buoys then idle. Ramps are all good and depends more on where you come in from to the lake. Docks, reeds and isolated cover are holding fish. Topwater can be really good. They also like crankbaits there.

I would recommend the West ramp mid-way up the lake off 1799 going north of Hwy 80 or south off Hwy 69.
Some docks nearby and I have had better luck fishing the north half of the lake than the south end.
Can be a good top water lake if you get there early. Fun lake to fish.
Many times I have fished half day at Holbrook and half day at Quitman or Hawkins since both are nearby for more variety of spots.
Slide right, coming in .... Fish On!

Great little lake. If you launch at the main ramp there is a point lined with cattails just across the lake. Run over yhere and go around the point. Shallow cranks, topwater and flipping all of that grass line. That is a steep bank so they stack up.

Drifting a big t-rig or c-rig big dark green worm In -20 ft on the south end can sometimes produce a big fish.

There are 3 ramps on the lake. 2 are main lake, 1 on the east side and 1 on the west side. The ramp on the north end is usable but shallower. The 2 on main lake are the primary ramps. The 1 on the east bank with the forecasted winds will be easier of the two. Personally I always use the east ramp, lots of parking, plenty of beaching area and a pier. The map that is posted by Jim sr does not show the north end ramp

Went out there for a few hours saturday, left the water by like 10-1030. Caught a few good ones! Nice little lake.
Did see about 8 floaters when we pulled out of the east side ramp, sucks to see that.
