Caught a new PB yesterday and I would like to get a replica mount. I took measurements and quality photos so now im just shopping around for someone who does replica mounts. Any places yall recommend? Already sent an email to Lake Fork taxidermy but all other suggestions welcome. Thanks!

What we're really paying for is the artistic skill and style of the taxidermist if we're getting fiberglass replicas. I've had 3 bass done by a well-regarding txdermist here, and they all kinda look like the same bass in terms of the paint job. It's just his style he's been doing for 40 years. So my next trophy will go to a different artist.

Whatever you do, don't go looking for a taxidermist based on price and how fast they can get it to you. The best are always booked months and up to a year out at times. it's because its art. Forms are easy, its the details in the painting, gills, fins, etc that makes the difference.

Lawrence does a top notch job. I think Daniel Blackstone in FL is awesome as well.

The only part I disagree with Chris on is the forms are easy part. I make all my own molds form scratch and have been for 44 years.
I'd recommend finding the one who has the experience and know how to deliver the artistic level of quality you want. would you rather pay $400 and get something that your not happy with or spend 5 or 6 hundred for a mount that when you look at it you re-live the moment?
quality and detail should come before price and convenience if you truly want long lasting artwork that you can appreciate. [Linked Image]

That's actually my point Bryan. Most taxidermist have cookie cutter molds they buy which makes a lot of the mounts look very similar to each other. I had a great company with great people do my first PB caught in a tourney that was 26" and 8.58#, then 2 years later caught a 9.93 and 24.5" in another tourney win and had them do that one as well. The 8.58 looks MUCH bigger than the 9.93 because of the length difference. I used another company that is no longer around Fish Scales Taxidermy for my 10.59 and it's the best work I've ever seen. Your images of your work are the closest I've ever seen to what I got from them. Hate they are done now. Will be calling you for my next mount which will have to be 12# or bigger so that day may never come.

Beautiful work, Bryan! Whatever you charge, I'm sure it's worth it and the fisherman will be proud of your work of art.
