Having +30yo carpet replaced with vinyl "hardwood" and need to move about 500# safe out of house for a few days. Already tried to talk flooring guys into moving it but they move nothing, that's all on the homeowner, all they can (or will) do is the flooring itself. Getting it out isn't a problem, we'll lay it on its side and slide it over the carpet.
Question is about getting it back in: What's the best way to move it back in without damaging the new floor?
Fishing, a man knows a serenity of soul and peace of mind that he finds in doing nothing else, and it makes no difference whether or not he catches anything. The mind of a true fisherman is not on petty subjects.

I moved mine using pieces of 1 sch40 PVC. I set them a few inches apart and rolled the safe on them. Had to stop a few times to reposition the pipes, but it was easy and didnt damage our hardwood floors.
Team wolfs I had to perform. It took a minute to get it all in my mouth and another five to swallow it all.

This is pretty smart. When I had mine moved in, they used a heavy duty dolly with robust casters. They alternated putting down sheets of 1/8" hard board (like pegboard without the holes) on top of the carpet and were able to move it in that way. This may be an option. I just had the house recarpeted and since the safe was in a closet, told them to just tack strip and carpet around it.

Thats how they moved those giant heads on Easter Island. 900 year old tech for the win.

Save a piece of the old carpet and lay the safe on it. Slide it back to where you want it.

I have moved my 700 pound safe several times. I use an appliance dolly from Uhaul with the straps. Two guys can move it around fairly easy. We hauled it up a ramp into a trailer several times.

I used a low profile appliance dolly as well. Dont use a regular dolly with pneumatic tires. It will blow them out. The one I used was more like a little frame with wheels. Once you get it on there just slide it around.

Eat about a pound of deer antler velvet and work quickly. The effects will give you super human strength but it doesn't last long. Also tell all woman to stay at least 100 yards away from you while under the influence of the velvet. You don't want to suddenly create unwanted or unplanned children.

Go by the nearest JifiLube and purchase a 55gallon drum of used motor oil. Apply generously to floors, slide safe with 1 finger.
