Got the boat back today with Livescope mounted. They forgot to mount the Ultrex motor though. In my manly wisdom I said, well [censored] I will say a few hundred bucks and do it myself. It was not bad, but somewhere in the mix I tripped a breaker. Keep in mind, this is a new boat and I am out there with my meter, pulling fuses, finally fixed a whiskey and sprite (2:00 pm) and said @#%$. Went inside and ate lunch, then came back out and started checking again. No power to the motor. I got in positions that a 51 year old man should not get in trying to reach some of those wires. Somehow I noticed this little yellow switch and flipped it and presto, power! Took it to the lake, setup the Ultrex and messed with Livescope a little. Going to get a detailed lesson in the morning. But here are a few pics. Oh, while I was driving to put a little more time on the boat (Trying to reach that 20 hour mark) I saw something jumping. Stopped, pulled the trolling motor out and threw a jig and caught a small Bass. First fish I ever caught on Lake Tyler. Was a good day. Now I am going to take a muscle relaxer and go to bed to wake up early and jerk some crappie lips at Lake Palestine!!!!

Try doing working on a boat at 73 yo. It aint fun and trying to find a youngster to assist is almost impossible.

Brother I think I can associate with it. I am only 51 but have encountered a few explosions and a war in Afghanistan so the frame is a little more worn than the body if that explains it better. haha.

Great setup, any reason you chose Lawrence live sight over Garmin Panoptics ? I am pro Lawrence and need some feedback , good ,bad or indifferent . Thank you for your service.

The short version of the long story. It came with the networked Humminbirds, but only had 2D sonar. The Lowrance I took off my old boat when I got rid of it. Was going to sell it but then realized I had no SI or DI, so I installed them. I really knew nothing about Garmin until I got the Livescope. I had a hard time with the Humminbird as it was different than Lowrance, but figured it out. I prefer Lowrance but at the same time I have not messed with a Humminbird or Garmin with SI or DI. I was happy with them originally but the new boat came with the Humminbird, so I stayed there. Not wanting to cut a new hole or have to fill in a hole I just mounted the Lowrance in addition. I get 2D on one screen and SI or DI on the other. Best of both worlds I guess.
