I carried Patrick to Sandlin Friday and we had a great trip. On the ride home he mentioned that even though we had slammed the fish, he wished we had went to LOP as he really wanted to learn to fish the lake in the summer time. My Sunday trip canceled so I gave him a call for a free trip to show him how we get it done. It took a little while to find the pattern but when we did, we put 44 fish in the boat in a couple of hours. Fish caught in 30 to 40 foot of water on standing timber. Little gray jig tied on a Nekid tackle head with a red tail was the bait of choice. The smaller I can tie them the better they seem to work.
Sweet, That is a lake that I want to fish again. I have fished it, but it has been 15-20 years. Was catching them in the brush off the main body of the lake. Now that I have livescope I want to get back there and see if it still produces..

Going to camp at LOP the week after July 4th. Limited range from kayaks, but wife and I are hoping to score a few off the TPWD attractors. If anyone has tips for LOP in terms of color choice or summer pattern, Im all ears.

Color never seems to be too important, but when Ive fished it in summer the key has been to downsize. 1 1/4 baits are what I use.
The water dropped about 3 inches from Thursday to Sunday, I not fish but talk to man that did about same as you fished just not as deep. around trees which are very under water now. You gotta know where stumps were to find em.
