I know this is a Texas forum, but wondering if any folks on here ever fish at lake conchas, Ute, or Santa Rosa? Wanting to catch some smallmouth, just looking for any info?

Word around the panhandle of Texas area right now is that Conchas is on fire. Friend of mine from Clovis went last week and said they had one of the best days he has ever had anywhere, and his dad has a place on Amistad

Not recently. Fished them in the 70s and 80s and some good fish were there then, so it shouldn't have changed. THey used to like CBs a it. Biggest bass at Conchas was a a5-8, biggest bass at Ute was a 6-3, but they FAUGHT all the way to the boat. No give up in them. Soft plastics, except a drop shot or a fluke style bait should work well, there, too. Hope this helps. Taking me back to the old days.
Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

Googled Lake Conchas and this was from June 4th.

Fishing was fair using minnows, small jigs and curly tail grubs for crappie. Fishing was fair to good using crank baits, sassy shad and minnows for white bass. Fishing was fair trolling minnow and worm rigs and crank baits for walleye. Fishing was good using cut bait, homemade dough bait and liver for catfish.
